01 DUI defense · Nationwide

Local, immediate, and almost entirely on a phone

DUI is the most mobile-weighted practice in legal search. Somebody has been released, it is late, they are on a phone, and the first thing they want to know is what happens to their license. A clean map presence and a page that loads instantly is most of the work, and most firms are losing on the second one.

One term, zero difficulty, saturated market

One mapped term at difficulty zero and 300 searches a month. That number tells you almost nothing useful about how hard this practice is, and the reason is worth being explicit about.

The keyword cluster mapped to this page, with monthly United States search volume and keyword difficulty where known.

Keyword difficulty measures national competition for a phrase. It does not measure how many DUI firms are already established in your metro, which in this practice is usually the binding constraint. A zero-difficulty term in a saturated local market is still a hard position to take, and any agency quoting you the difficulty score alone is not telling you the whole picture.

03

The license question comes first

The sequence is unusually predictable in this practice, which makes it unusually easy to build for.

  • 01

The license comes before the lawyer

What happens to their driving, and by when. This is the first search and often the second and third, and it is the query most firms leave entirely to state agency pages and forums.

  • 02

It happens in the small hours

Which makes map presence, page speed and how a call is answered part of the marketing. The best page in the market loses to an average one if the number rings out.

  • 03

    Almost entirely on a phone

More so than any other practice here. A site that is fine on a laptop and slow on mobile is failing at the only moment that counts, and load time in this practice is a conversion metric rather than a technical one.

  • 04

    The comparison is short

One or two firms, contacted within a day or so. Being present at the search is close to the whole game, which is why local work outranks everything else in the priority order.

Two priorities, in order, and then everything else. Firms that invert this order spend a lot and move very little.

Map presence, first

Profile completeness, correct categories and citation consistency. The fastest-moving work available and the one that maps directly onto how the search happens.

Speed, second

Measured on a phone on a normal connection. In this practice a two-second improvement is worth more than a page of additional copy, and it is cheaper to buy.

License content

The administrative side, plainly explained and kept general. It is the first thing searched and the thing firms most often skip in favor of talking about themselves.

Separated from general defense

Its own page, its own terms, its own content. Merged with general criminal defense, both pages underperform and the firm concludes search does not work.

Obvious contact route

A tappable number visible without scrolling, and an answering arrangement that matches when the searches actually happen.

Modest authority build

Twenty placements a month is sufficient here. The cluster is not the constraint, so spending up a tier for volume buys less than fixing the two items above.

05

A volume practice

DUI is a volume practice with a modest matter value, which makes it one of the few places on this site where we would actively steer a firm away from the larger plans.

At $4,000 a matter, the case for spending $6,900 a year on Titanium is much weaker than the case for spending $2,820 on Golden and putting the difference into site speed and the answering arrangement. The binding constraints in this practice are not things a bigger program fixes.

That is a genuine recommendation against our own larger plans, and it holds until a firm is running DUI across more than one market, at which point the additional domains start earning their keep.

The search-sourced share is set higher than the site default because DUI skews further toward search than most practices. Every input is yours to change. Nothing above is a forecast, a guarantee or a representation of results.

Illustrative scenarios modeled from the figures shown. Not client results and not a projection.

The other reason to keep the plan modest here is that DUI matters are frequently a firm's entry point into a longer relationship. Someone who was represented well on a first offense returns, and refers. Judging a program on the first matter alone undercounts it, and overspending to accelerate a practice whose real value accrues over years is the wrong trade to make.

We are a marketing agency. We are not a law firm, we do not employ lawyers, and we do not provide legal or ethics advice. Nothing on this site states what any deadline is or what happens to any license.

Questions

Why does DUI need its own page separate from criminal defense?

Different intent, different searcher, different matter value. DUI searches are more procedural and license focused, general defense searches are charge focused, and merging them produces one page competing against itself for both. This is the most common structural fault in defense firms that do both.

What actually decides DUI visibility?

A clean map presence and a page that loads instantly on a phone, in roughly that order. The searches happen fast, on mobile, and frequently at night. Everything else in the program supports those two things rather than substituting for them.

What do people search first after a DUI arrest?

The license question, usually before anything about a lawyer. What happens to their driving, what the deadline is, whether they can still get to work. A firm that answers that plainly reaches them during the hours when the decision about representation is actually being made.

Is $4,000 a realistic matter value?

It is a typical flat-fee range and it is the calculator default, editable like every other input. Firms handling felony or repeat matters set it considerably higher, and firms competing on volume in a saturated metro set it lower. It is not a figure your firm should charge.

Our market is saturated with DUI firms. Does this still work?

The term difficulty is zero, so the constraint is local competition rather than the keyword. In a saturated metro the realistic gains are in the situational and procedural content nobody is building, and in map visibility, rather than in the head term everybody is already fighting over.

How long does it take?

Local and profile work often shows inside four to eight weeks. Competitive positions in a saturated market take three to six months and sometimes longer. We do not guarantee rankings, case volumes or fee revenue in this practice or any other.
