SEO for law firms, built on terms you can win
Most firms have already paid for SEO that did not work. Usually because the agency sold the broad terms, spent a year failing to move them, and reported activity instead of results. This program starts from the terms your practice can realistically reach, builds the authority that broad terms depend on, and lists every placement as a URL you can open.

We recommend Platinum or Titanium to most firms. Twenty keywords covers a single practice area in a single market and little else. A firm running personal injury and criminal defense across a metro has already exceeded it, and multi-office firms need the four domains that only Titanium carries. Website design is quoted separately from $400, one time.
The terms we target, and the ones we refuse to promise
Legal is the most competitive search market there is. That is not a reason to avoid it. It is a reason to be specific about what a given term costs to reach, and to say so before you pay rather than after.
The broad terms in this market carry difficulty scores three to five times higher than any trade vertical. Agencies sell them because selling them wins the pitch. The firm then spends four quarters funding an attempt at a term that was never reachable from a standing start, and the reporting fills with impressions and activity because there is nothing else to report.
The alternative is not to aim lower. It is to sequence properly. There is an unusually rich pocket of terms in legal search sitting at difficulty zero to five, and many of them carry stronger commercial intent than the head terms do. Someone searching a practice-area phrase with a company or agency modifier is further along than someone typing two generic words.
Those terms are where a program starts. They produce movement inside three to six months, that movement produces the authority signals the harder terms depend on, and the broad terms become reachable as a consequence rather than as a promise. We target them throughout. We will not put a date on them.
You see the proposed keyword list before any work begins, with difficulty and volume attached to each term, and with the terms we think are not worth starting with marked as such. If that list disagrees with what another agency told you, the difficulty scores are checkable in any standard tool.
Bars scaled to KD 50. Volumes are monthly United States searches. Difficulty scores move, and these are read at a point in time.
What you get each month
The deliverables are countable, and they are the same list every month. Volume scales with the plan; the categories do not change.
Crawl and index review, page structure, internal linking and speed. From Golden upward this includes a full on-page technical audit and a content gap analysis against the firms currently ranking above you.
Five to fifty placements a month on DA 20+ sites depending on plan, each written for the host publication and each returned with a live URL. Anchor mix is varied deliberately rather than repeated.
Five to fifty properties a month at DA 50+, built under your firm name and owned by you permanently. These are assets, not rentals. They do not disappear if you stop the program.
From 1,500 to 20,000 supporting links a month, used to push indexation of the placements above rather than as a ranking factor in themselves. Premium indexing is included from Golden upward.
A monthly report listing every placement as a clickable URL, what moved, what did not, and what changes next month. A dedicated account manager on every plan, including the smallest one.
What this looks like for a four-attorney personal injury firm taking twelve matters a month
- Plan
- Platinum, $325 a month
- Keywords in scope
- 40
- Placements a month
- 30 guest posts, 30 Web 2.0s
- Matters a month now
- 12
- Search sourced, at 60 percent
- 7.2 a month
- At a 20 percent visibility lift
- 17.3 additional matters a year
At a typical personal injury matter value of $28,000 the modeled annual figure is well into six digits, and the program costs $3,900 a year. The point of the model is not the total. It is that the arithmetic is simple enough to check, and that the inputs are yours to change.
Illustrative scenarios modeled from the figures shown. Not client results and not a projection.
What law firm SEO actually is
Search engine optimization for a law firm is three separate jobs that are usually sold as one. The first is making sure the site can be crawled, indexed and understood: structure, speed, schema, and a practice-area architecture where your own pages are not competing against each other for the same term.
The second is publishing pages that deserve to rank for something specific. Not a page per keyword, which produces thin duplicates that cannibalise one another, but a page per genuine service or situation, written to be the most useful answer available.
The third is authority. Search engines infer quality partly from who else references you. That is what the guest placements and Web 2.0 properties are for, and it is the part agencies are most often vague about, because a link count is easy to inflate and hard to check.
Which is why every link is delivered as a live URL. Not a count, not a screenshot of a dashboard, not a summary of work performed. A list you can open in a browser. If a placement is not there, you will know within a minute of receiving the report.
Why legal search works differently
Four things make legal search behave unlike any other vertical, and a program that ignores them will underperform regardless of budget.
- 01
Search is jurisdictional before it is anything else
Someone with a matter needs a lawyer admitted where the matter sits. That makes local signals disproportionately powerful and makes national-sounding pages disproportionately weak. Profile completeness, citation consistency across the legal directories, and genuinely local page content do more here than in any trade vertical.
- 02
People search their situation for weeks before they search for a lawyer
The terminal terms are the last step, not the first. Someone describes what happened, what their options are, and what something is likely to cost long before they type the word attorney. Content written for those situational queries reaches them far earlier and at a fraction of the competition.
- 03
Directories outrank individual firms constantly
The large legal directories hold the head terms in most markets, frequently including a firm's own practice-area terms. Competing with them head on for a two-word phrase is usually a poor use of budget. Winning the specific and situational terms they cover thinly is not.
- 04
Everything published is regulated
Lawyer advertising is governed by each state bar. Requirements vary significantly and they change. Communications about a firm's services must not be false or misleading, testimonials are restricted in some states, past results usually require a disclaimer, and terms such as specialist may require certification. Everything written for your firm is delivered for your review, and nothing is published without your sign off.
We are a marketing agency. We are not a law firm, we do not employ lawyers, and we do not provide legal or ethics advice. Your firm reviews against your bar's current guidance, and compliance remains yours.
How the work runs
Five steps, every month, in this order. Nothing is built on top of a site that cannot be crawled, and nothing is reported that you cannot open and check yourself.
Where your firm currently sits against the practices ranking above you.
Your practice areas mapped to terms by difficulty and commercial intent.
Structure, indexing and speed corrected before any authority is built.
Placements and assets, each returned with a URL you can open.
Monthly. What moved, what did not, and what changes next month.
Questions
What does a law firm SEO program actually include?
It includes keyword strategy built on your practice areas, on-page and technical correction, authority building through guest placements and Web 2.0 assets, and a monthly report listing every link as a live URL. The number of keywords, domains and placements is set by the plan you choose, from five keywords on Basic to a hundred on Titanium.
How is this different from a general SEO agency?
Three things differ. Legal keyword difficulty is three to five times higher than most verticals, so the term selection has to be far more disciplined. Legal search is jurisdictional, so local signals carry more weight than they do elsewhere. And lawyer advertising is regulated by each state bar, so everything written for your firm is delivered for your review before publication.
Which keywords will you target for our firm?
The specific ones first. Practice-area phrasing, the company and agency modifiers, local phrasing, and the long tail around the services you actually provide. Broad head terms are targeted as authority accumulates, but never promised on a timeline. You see the proposed list, with difficulty and volume attached, before any work starts.
Do you work with solo practitioners as well as larger firms?
Yes. Basic at $65 a month exists precisely so a solo practitioner can start. In practice most firms outgrow twenty keywords quickly, which is why Platinum is the plan we recommend to a practice covering several areas in one metro, and Titanium to multi-office firms that need four domains.
Can you guarantee we will rank for our main practice term?
No, and we will not quote a date for it either. We do not guarantee rankings, case volumes or fee revenue. What is committed is the work: the placements in your plan, delivered on the stated turnaround, each with a URL you can open and verify.
What happens if we want to stop?
You cancel. Every plan is month to month with no contract term and no cancellation window, and the setup fee is waived on all of them. Everything produced up to that point stays yours, including the content, the placements and the assets built on your behalf.
What makes this different
Every link arrives as a live URL
Not a count, not a screenshot, not a summary of work performed. A list you can open in a browser and check in under a minute. The assets stay yours permanently.
We refuse to promise the head terms
We target them. We will not put a date on them, and we will tell you which of the terms you asked about are not worth starting with. That conversation happens before you pay, not after.
Nothing is published without your sign off
Everything written for your firm is delivered for review first. Bar advertising rules vary by state and change, and your firm is the one accountable for what appears under its name.
Month to month, setup waived
No contract term, no cancellation window, no setup fee on any plan. If the reporting stops being worth reading you can stop, which is the only real accountability an agency can offer.
Seventeen years and a dedicated manager
Operating since 2009 with more than 15,000 clients served and 94 percent client retention. Every plan, including the smallest, has one named account manager rather than a shared queue.
